Ask most people, and they will list moving as one of their most stressful life experiences. Leaving one home or business for a new one, and all that organizing, negotiating, and packing are enough to give you heart palpitations. Adding a last-minute move to the mix can take a toll on your sanity. If you find yourself in this situation, take a deep breath, do your mantras, and use these six last-minute moving tips that are guaranteed to lighten your stress load.


1. Make a Plan

While a last-minute move doesn't give you a lot of time, rushing around without direction will make things worse and cause stress levels to rise. Stop and think about what you need to do and then start planning from there with our next step:

If you find yourself in a last-minute move situation, it's essential to find last-minute movers right away. Look for a reputable moving company with the right team and moving equipment, and see if they have packers and movers, in case you don’t have time to pack yourself.

Write down everything you need to do from start to finish. Make one list for the organizational things you need to accomplish, such as changing your mailing address, contacting utility companies, etc. Then make another list for what you need to pack by going room by room.
